You may find that assistance with financial counseling is all you need to get back on track.  However, many people struggling with unmanageable credit card and other unsecured debt find they will benefit from our program.   DMPs serve a dual role, both helping a consumer repay debts and helping creditors receive the money owed to them.  We will work with you and your creditors to design a debt repayment program.  Many of the national creditors will minimize your monthly payments, reduce interest rates and waive late and over limit fees, until the debt is paid in full.  This can ultimately save you thousands of dollars in interest and years of payments.  Creditors do have some restrictions in exchange for reducing interest and waiving fees, such as accounts must be closed and you may not apply for any new credit while in the program.  

If the DMP is the appropriate solution, you will receive specific information on how the plan works and how the agency is funded.  You will have the convenience of one monthly payment which CCCS will then disburse to each of your creditors.  It usually takes approximately 36 – 60 months to repay your debts through a DMP.  Many creditors re-age your account after three consecutive payments, reporting the account as current and ending calls from collectors.  You will continue to receive statements from your creditors and will soon begin seeing a reduction in your balances.
