13th Annual Golf Outing Raises over $33,000Thanks to the faithful commitment of over 110 friends of Graceworks (including vendors, congregational members, volunteers, residents, and employees) over $33,000 was raised in support of Graceworks Lutheran Services.
On July 15 at The Golf Club at Yankee Trace 87 golfers participated in our 13th annual golf scramble. Three teams with the lowest gross scores won the team awards:
1st place with a score of 57 = Plante Moran
2nd Place with a score of 60 = Mike Allen and friends
3rd place with a score of 62 = Messer Construction
Although there were no hole-in-one shots this year, the following golfers won individual awards:
Mens longest drive = Mike Gingrich (Neace Lukens team)
Womens longest drive = Jolene Braet (Peace Lutheran team)
Closest to the pin #3 = Nick Ruebel
Closest to the pin #13 = Matt Watson (James Investment team)
Closest to the pin #16 = Bob Reichard
Longest putt = Ron Casey (James Investment team)
Congratulations to Bart Gruenwald (James Investment team) for winning the one-hole putting contest and taking home the 47" flat screen television prize donated by McGohan Brabender.
Emmanuel Lutheran was the winner of the congregational trophy with a score of 63. Competing for the trophy was the team from Light of Christ Lutheran and the team from Peace Lutheran, both with a score of 67. The winning Emmanuel Lutheran team included: James Butts, Ken Franklund, Luke Schumann, and Mark Steffe. Congratulations to Emmanuel Lutheran who has won this award three times over the history of our event: 2008, 2010 and 2011.
