Bethany Village:
Volunteers make a difference in our residents’ lives! The volunteer program at Bethany Village is comprised of over 300 community and resident volunteers who serve Bethany residents through a variety of activities that enhance their quality of life.
We are currently recruiting community and resident volunteers to serve as wheelchair transporters, greeters, activity assistants, program assistants, musicians, friendly visitors, and “on-call” volunteers. We accommodate your schedule! Orientation and training are provided for every volunteer opportunity. For information on the next orientation date call the Volunteer Coordinator at (937) 433-2110 x 6229.
Friends at Home:
Friends at Home is a new volunteer program that matches seniors who would like someone to visit with volunteers who enjoy visiting with others. Both parties feel enriched by the wisdom and memories that each has to share.
Friends at Home currently needs to fill two visiting volunteer opportunities – Friendly and Sunshine. A Friendly Visitor is matched to a senior who shares common interests. Since these visits will go on continuously, the volunteer is expected to visit at least once a week for one to two hours. A Sunshine Visitor provides support to seniors during times of change, or they may just stop by to be a companion on occasion. The time commitment for Sunshine Visitors is very flexible.
If you are a special individual who enjoys the one-on-one company of another adult or if you are a person who is interested in providing companionship and support while visiting with a senior – you would make a great visiting volunteer! All visiting volunteers go through a screening process, a background check and training before beginning to visit. You must be over the age of 21, but there are no income restrictions. For more information on these opportunities, please call 937-433-2110 ext. 6455 or email friends@graceworks.org.
